Little Emma

Hi friends, I wanted to update you on the little girl that I mentioned a couple posts ago named Emma. My friend Jennifer who is good friends with the parents of Emma has been calling me to let me know what is happening. She also just forwarded some precious pics of Emma. I would love for you all to see her, but I don't want to put her picture up when I don't even know the parents. Anyways, she is darling. She has golden blond hair and huge blue eyes. I think she just turned 3 or is going to turn 3 any day now. The tumor she had was called Wilms tumor. I just read a little bit about it and I guess there is actually a high survival rate with this kind of tumor. However, they did the surgery, removed the tumor, but did find out that it was already at stage 3. I believe they just started chemo. Please just continue to pray for this precious little girl.

It's the little stuff

Just wanted to share a blessing from Brennan with you all. As many of you know-he is my strong willed one and we have some difficult times. Yesterday though he said to me "Mommy-you are the most precious Mommy in the whole world". It just made my day.

Tonight I made smores for the kids (over the stove) and we took them outside and we enjoyed looking at the moon and stars. Lauren said "what if a meteor landed right in our backyard right now"? I said "We would die". ( I know pretty blunt, but she knows where she's going!) She says "Well-at least we got to eat yummy smores first"! Too funny. I need to go outside at night with them more often. It is fun to enjoy God's creations at night.

September 11th

I was just watching this video on youtube and it is so weird how when you watch these videos-it feels like you are standing right where you were 7 years ago when this happened. I can't believe it was 7 years ago. Lauren wasn't even 1 yet. Greg happened to be home that morning and we were watching the news when it happened. About an hour later Lauren was running through the house and hit her mouth on the corner of a wooden chest splitting that little piece of skin that attaches your lip to your gum (obviously I have no idea what it is called). We rushed her to Urgent Care and it was on the news there. The waiting room was completely silent the whole time. Lauren was fine-no stitches needed. 7 years later she still has a beautiful smile :). Soooo-I am watching this video and thinking about all our friends who have been in this war, my hubby that was there for a couple months, our friends that are still part of it and I just want to thank you all over and over for the sacrifices you have made and are making. I am so thankful for the freedoms I have in this country and for the people (including my husband :))protecting it. Here is the link to the video.

Prayer Request

Hi Friends, Last night I got a phone call from a dear friend of mine who asked me if I would pray for a little girl she knows. I haven't actually talked to her-it was a message, so I will be getting more details soon. Anyways, the family to pray for has 3 little girls and their 2 year old was just diagnosed with a rare form of cancer (I don't know the name). Apparently, they found a lump in her stomach, took her to the doctor and found out that there a huge cancerous tumor growing. They are doing surgery Friday and then she will start chemo quickly after that. I know that her name is Emma and she lives in TX. The family is military. I know I don't have all the details-but God knows the details...so please keep little Emma in your prayers.

Take me out to the ball game!

Monday we took Lauren, Joshua and my Dad to the Diamondbacks game. They had both finished their summer reading program through the library, so they received free tickets. Brennan did it too, but we decided he would have more fun playing at my Mom's (and we would enjoy it more :)-he is a busy boy!). My Dad came with us last year as well, so I think we will make it an annual event. Of course one of the best parts of going for the kids is the hot dogs and cotton candy! I shared in it as well and man-I did not feel too good later that evening. They got to go see the organ player and Lauren and I (plus a bunch of other people) were even on the big screen singing "Take Me Out the Ball Game" by the organ during the 7th inning stretch. The game was great. They won 8 to 6. It was such a fun afternoon and Brennan had a great time at my Mom's. He will join us next year!
